How to spice up your work environment!

The economic crisis has hit more than our pockets! Everyone is feeling a little down about the current situation and it could be affecting the performance of your employees! Bringing fun to the workplace can be a great way to boost morale and increase productivity during these times of trial.

Robert Blanche, director of Bayside Group, says that staff involvement is the key to success! Companies have organised events such as sailing lessons and dress up days, and given out monthly rewards to staff that go that extra mile! Recently, Integral HRM held a National Geek Day where employees dressed as nerds, geeks, Star Wars characters or favourite superheros to work!

Workplaces can organise funding by having a social committee that collects a small amount from employees prior to an event or on a regular basis! Ideas for this can include weekly or monthly events such as staff drinks, dinners or bowling. If on a tight budget, lunchtime games such as quizzes and trivia can be a great way to promote staff interaction and bonding! Even simple things like having food and telling jokes during team meetings, or casual dress days can make all the difference!

So start planning how you can improve your work environment!
