OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

4 Years Management Experience Working with Disabilities

About the role:

Our client is seeking a committed and motivated Occupational Therapist to work amongst an Allied Health team covering areas of NDIS, aged care, workers compensation and Medicare.

The Occupational Therapist role will include the provision of clinic-based and community-based outreach services across the Sydney Metropolitan region.

The candidate must exercise professionalism, confidentiality and cultural safety when conducting clinic appointments and home visits.

Duties:

  • Ensure integrated service delivery and follow up, coordination and efficient communication with other internal/visiting/external providers
  • Deliver education sessions in health education programs and in-service education relevant to occupational therapy
  • Ensure information is recorded accurately and in a timely manner electronically
  • Maintain client privacy and confidentiality
  • Work closely with support coordinators and referring clinics to maintain regular monitoring of client progress and care
  • Work closely with reception staff to ensure workflow efficiency
  • Connecting and building strong relationships with other organisations, medical practices, and allied health professionals
  • Medicate billings/claims
  • Maintain accurate client records in order to forecast demand for services and allocations of budgets
  • Provide performance and evaluation reports

Skills & Experience:

  • Min 4 years management experience working in disability or similar field
  • NDIS worker Orientation Module
  • Able to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Current WWC, NSW driver’s license and first aid certificate
  • Experience in Microsoft applications (word, outlook, excel and databases)
  • Proven ability to prepare and present written and verbal reports
