This article is the 3rd and last article of a 3 part series which looks at ways of increasing your productivity. Last month I wrote about 3 techniques that you can use to increase your productivity. This month's article will focus on mindset.

I really like the term mindset. Your mindset can help you or hinder you. What is your "mind set"? Are you a positive person, with a great attitude and a willingness to take things onboard? Or do you have a "don't bother it will never work" or "it's too hard" type attitude?

Don't despair if you think you have a negative mindset. It really does not mean anything. All that has occurred is that you have practiced negative thoughts. Just practice the opposite now.

What you can do on a personal level to increase your productivity include:
1. Read a motivational book
2. Take 1 idea, put it into action, slot it into your diary, be persistent and consistent with that 1 idea
3. Share success and failures with other people

What you can do on at work to increase your productivity include:
1. Read a book regarding improving business processes
2. Take 1 idea, put it into action, slot it into your diary, be persistent and consistent with that 1 idea
3. Share success and failures with your colleagues.

Why read a book? Well some one else has most likely done some research and written about a particular topic. There is no need to re-invent the wheel. You just have to walk into your local bookstore and you will find hundreds of "how to" books.

Why practice? Practice makes perfect. And you are already practicing the negative. So dump the negative mindset, practices and attitudes. And replace with the positive ones.

Why share? People respect sharing. We are all human. No one will appreciate the perfect story. For example, I live the perfect life, I make the right decisions all the time and lived happily ever after. It really does not work that way. Most success stories will include the following:

1. How it was before - usually tough and hard
2. The realisation and action taken to change it
3. How it is now - usually great

Get excited about life. Implement 1 idea that will change your life!
