EBR January Charity Event

17 Jan 2012 | 3 min read

This month EBR staff members will be participating in a the annual Sun Run  to be held on the 4th of February 2012. It is a 6.5km run from Dee Why to Manly on Sydney's Northern Beaches. All proceeds raised will go towards raising money for 2 childrens hospitals in the Alotau & Kokopo region of Papua New Guinea (PNG). The proceeds will be used to provide better and comfortable facilities for all patients especially newborn babies and children.

The reason why EBR would like to contribute to this cause is because a colleague in our team at EBR has seen first hand the poor quality and lack of facilities both these hospitals have for families and children. She goes on to say "I saw a mother asleep on the floor with her newborn in a bed. I hope this money raised will aid to provide better facilities such as cots for newborn babies and make the lives of the children being treated there and their families, more comfortable."

If you would like to join us on the day in the fun run, please enter by clicking here.

We are hoping to raise $10,000 to donate to these 2 children's hospitals in Alotau & Kokopo, Papua New Guinea.

In addition, EBR staff will be fundraising for this great cause on Australia Day with a morning tea being held in the office consisting of all Australia's day coloured food!
