Redundancy Survival Tips
Being made redundant can be a very scary and daunting situation and generally comes as a shock. Even though the signs may have been there we still only see what we want to see.
The EBR team have some helpful tips on how you can deal with redundancy;
- Create your own reality. You are in charge of how you react to situations. Are you victim or are you an opportunist?
- Average candidates are sitting around moaning about the downturn. Successful candidates are busy looking for opportunities!
- Keep training and improving your qualifications it will keep your skills sharp and current.
- Get rid of limiting beliefs. Ask yourself, what is stopping me becoming a top performer? Maybe you have associated success with hard work.
- Work on perfecting your professional CV. Have 4-5 versions created based on target roles.
- Make the most of outplacement services. It is a free service and the providers are dedicated experts who are there to help you.
- Finding the right permanent job could take some time so be prepared for the alternatives such as temporay and part time roles and be prepared to take on a different style of work than what you are used to.
