Success in 2010: Can you have it?
As the months are flying by, you have probably forgotten all about your New Year's Resolutions. Plans on focusing on your health and happiness have given way to your focus on your career and business opportunities. Are you too busy to consider all aspects of your life? With this mindset, can you achieve success in 2010?
Without some serious planning, you are likely to wind up the year saying, "next year will be better". Business coach Sophie Robertson says that achieving your goals will not happen by accident, and that they will require some degree of planning. Robertson identifies key areas that should be addressed:
- Health - fitness and diet
- Business and financial - career and business opportunities
- Social - friends, partner and family
- Knowledge - books and study
You can address each area by asking how you feel about the way things are currently standing and how you want to improve that area. Set goals for yourself within these areas. Keeping a journal and making a task list which you can cross off after every achievement will make your goals more manageable and within reach.
In addition to these key areas you should also look at your contribution. This can include not only charity, but also your water and energy saving. How can you help the environment? Visit the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water for tips on how you can reduce your carbon footprint!
Find the right method and stick to your goals. You could wind up your year with a sense of achievement and pride!
